Bees anounce spring !
On the Emerald Coast, temperatures are starting to rise, the morning freeze makes room for sunny days, and spring is getting ready to invade the Château Richeux alleys. Alain, who watches over the park, has been observing the bees starting to come out and go for a stroll amongst the daffodils in the morning. They are coming out for their purification flight after winter…
In the celtic vegetable garden and at the Ferme du Vent, work has begun. Alain and Olivier are preparing the soil to plant new “syrmeta” potatoes in the field of wind, but also artichokes, cabbages, shallots… These species are specific to Brittany and have a very particular taste, which only the ocean wind can initiate. This field is certified Organic Agriculture and DEMETER since 2013, to preserve the harmony with nature, and all the seeds are biodynamic. All the cultures, from the field of wind to the celtic vegetable garden are later used in the restaurant’s kitchens. This approach allows us to reduce transportation and the CO2 charge, to consume local and let our guests enjoy this visual and tasty experience.
